🏎 F1 Weekend Pick

Race Day in Shanghai doesn't start until 15:00 CST — giving you a full morning to escape the city entirely. Zhujiajiao is 45 minutes from central Shanghai: a 1,000-year-old water town of stone bridges, canal gondolas, and Ming Dynasty streets that feels a world away from Pudong's skyline. Your private guide and driver handle everything — boat ticket, garden entry, transfers — so you're back at your hotel well before the race. Rated 5.0 stars by 461 guests. The kind of Sunday morning that makes an F1 race weekend feel like a proper city break.

Michael did an absolutely amazing job. He is very knowledgable and passionate about China and her history. He was very careful to give thoughtful details and make sure we were comfortable. He assisted us with translations with the locals and went above and beyond his duty. We could not have had a better guide! Give him a raise!!! What an awesome employee you have!

We booked this as a private tour for 4 people. Michael was attentive from the first moment we met him. During the 50 minute drive he gave enough information for us to feel "educated" but enough silence so as not to annoy. The tour itself couldn't have been more perfect. The garden is gorgeous. There was a moment when the locals shut the boat rides down which threaten a bit of "shade" on our package - but he persisted - must do boat. Through the old village, having Michael to interpret and encourage us to try the numerous offerings cannot be overstated. We (including 17 yr old granddaughter) did and tried more than if we had made our own way to the town. On a miserable cold day, we laughed, bought pickled vegetables, nuts, stinky tofu, glutinous rice & pork. Had a full tea tasting experience that satiated & warmed. Ok, blah blah blah - but Michael was great & never rushed us. The vehicle & driver Liang, great (though quiet so I hope I got his name right). Book Michael for your own tour.

My tour guide "Annie" was very informative and knowledgeable of the water village. A pleasant walk through this section of history is well worth the time. The boat ride on the scenic water is very relaxing. I learned a lot about the history because Annie has been here quite some time.
