GETTING
THERE

Hungaroring, Budapest

The Hungaroring sits 19 km northeast of Budapest city centre in Mogyoród, and race weekend transforms the entire transport network into a fan-moving machine. Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport lands you just 30 km from the circuit — roughly 35 minutes by car — making it one of the most accessible grands prix on the calendar. Plan your transport early: the M2 metro and dedicated shuttle buses fill to capacity within an hour of each session ending.

HOW TO GET THERE

🚆

HÉV Train + Shuttle

Standard Fan Route

Take the H8 HÉV suburban train from Örs vezér tere to Mogyoród station (approx 30 mins). From there, official free shuttle buses run frequently to the circuit gates. This is the most reliable way to avoid the M3 motorway gridlock. Ensure you have a valid Budapest transit pass or buy a HÉV extension ticket at any BKK machine.

🚌

Free Shuttle Bus

Direct from Budapest

Official, free shuttle buses depart from the Stadionok Volánbusz station (near the Puskás Ferenc Stadion metro stop). They drop you directly at the circuit perimeter. Expect 40-50 mins travel time. This service is extremely popular on Sunday — arrive early at the station to minimize wait times.

🚗

Car (Drive & Park)

Groups / Pre-paid only

Access the Hungaroring via the M3 motorway (direction Miskolc, Exits 20 or 23). While some free parking is available in designated fields, it fills up by 08:30 on Sunday. Pre-purchased VIP or Gold parking permits are highly recommended. Note: The exit lanes post-race can be extremely slow; expect 2+ hours of delay.

🚕

Official Taxi (Főtaxi)

Comfort / Faster Exit

Főtaxi is the only official taxi partner with access to the dedicated taxi lanes. A ride from Budapest city centre costs approximately €40–€60. Using the official app or pre-booking ensures you bypass the worst of the M3 traffic. Do not use unofficial taxis as they are restricted from the circuit-adjacent drop-off zones.

🚁

Helicopter

Premium / Ultimate Speed

Private helicopter transfers operate from Budapest Airport (BUD) and the downtown helipad (Portum), landing you at the Hungaroring Heliport in under 15 minutes. This is the only way to completely bypass the notorious M3 gridlock during the Sunday morning peak rush.
