Spend a lovely day out on a boat exploring the beautiful Chiemsee and its two picturesque islands, the Herreninsel and the Fraueninsel. Known as “the Bavarian Ocean,” Chiemsee is the largest fresh-water lake near Munich. Herreninsel boasts wonderful Herrenchiemsee, a palace built by King Ludwig II in 1878 in the image of Versailles in France. In some respects, however, Herrenchiemsee actually surpasses Versailes – its Hall of Mirrors is a famous example. With its elegant gardens and walkways and the beautiful interiors of gold, glass, and porcelain, the palace is a visually stunning monument to opulence. King Ludwig's difficult personality is reflected in his famous elevated dining table, which was raised and lowered through the floor so the reclusive King did not have to see his servants. This tour gives you the full story of Chiemsee and its islands. You even get the option of touring the interior of the palace. This full day tour is one of the most unique and special touring experiences in Germany.

Très facile de trouver le point de rencontre, et toute la journée s'est faite sans avoir à se presser ou courir après les transports. Un grand merci à notre guide, Stephanie, qui a su nous entraîner avec sa bonne humeur, sa gentillesse, ses anecdotes et bons conseils. L'avoir à nos côtés a vraiment été un gros plus pour notre excursion. Le château est un vrai joyau que je rêvais de voir depuis longtemps, et je n'ai pas été déçue : l'interdiction de prendre des photos, bien que parfois frustrante, nous permet de réellement profiter de la beauté des lieux et des détails. Le musée Ludwig II est un des plus beaux hommages qui puisse lui être fait, avec des éléments uniques et intimes dans une très bonne scénographie. La Fraueninsel est aussi une belle découverte : île pittoresque, l'église où des nonnes officient toujours, une baignade ou un verre au soleil. Une super expérience ! merci 😉”
