About this experience
Experience Australia’s most famous coastal drive the smart way. This reverse-route Great Ocean Road day tour from Melbourne is designed to avoid the crowds, maximise scenery, and deliver a more relaxed, premium experience — with a picnic lunch included. Beat the crowds from the start Depart Melbourne early and travel inland, bypassing busy coastal traffic to reach the iconic Shipwreck Coast before most tour buses arrive. Your first stop is the world-famous Twelve Apostles, where towering limestone stacks rise dramatically from the Southern Ocean. With fewer visitors around, enjoy uninterrupted views and crowd-free photographs. Continue to the breathtaking Loch Ard Gorge, where sheer cliffs surround a secluded beach and vivid turquoise waters. Hear the powerful story of the Loch Ard shipwreck as you descend into the gorge carved by centuries of ocean swells. You’ll also visit Mutton Bird Island and Razorback Lookout, offering sweeping views along this rugged coastline. Relax and enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic location, allowing more time to take in the views rather than queuing at busy cafés. Rainforests, wildlife and the iconic coastal drive After exploring the coast, head inland to the cool, green surrounds of Great Otway National Park. Join your guide on an easy walk through ancient rainforest, home to some of the tallest tree species in the world — a peaceful contrast to the dramatic cliffs you’ve just explored. From here, follow the National Heritage-listed Great Ocean Road in reverse. Travel through charming seaside towns including Apollo Bay, Lorne, Anglesea and Kennett River, stopping to search for koalas resting in eucalyptus trees and spotting other native wildlife in their natural habitat. Complete the coastal journey at the iconic Memorial Arch, stopping for photos beneath the sign that honours the soldiers who built this remarkable road. Travel in comfort with a trusted operator This tour is operated by Autopia Tours, a Victorian-accredited, award-winning tour company with over 35 years’ experience. Travel in a premium coach with extra legroom, reclining seats, onboard Wi-Fi and USB charging ports, ensuring comfort throughout this full-day adventure. The tour is also an eco-conscious, sustainable travel experience. Return to Melbourne in the evening having experienced the Great Ocean Road at its very best — fewer crowds, smarter timing and unforgettable scenery.

War super, Kiwi war klasse!!
Buy yourself a cheaper tour as this one is a scam. You pay double just for a sandwich in the bus aka “a picnic lunch at a scenic location”. There was no walk in the rainforest and you spend most of the time exploring by yourself.
Sehr schöner Ausflug, war wirklich gut organisiert, nur dass der Ausflug sehr lange ging und ich deshalb als Mittagessen ein Sandwich und eine Banane zu wenig fand. Sonst sehr schön :)
