Reviews
“This sake tasting was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about sake, offering detailed yet easy-to-understand explanations about each selection, the brewing process, the ingredients and the regional differences. Every question was answered thoughtfully, adding real depth to the experience. The sake choices and food pairings were very well curated—interesting, diverse, and perfectly balanced, showcasing a range of styles and flavors that kept the tasting engaging throughout. What truly stood out was the attention to detail: from the pacing of the tasting, to the way each sake was introduced, to the overall atmosphere. It felt both educational and relaxed, making the time fly by and we are certainly going to use the cheat sheet for choosing the right sake from now on. Highly recommended - a truly memorable and enriching experience!”
“Mayo was our saki sommelier and she was engaging and very knowledgeable. Her selection of tastings was excellent providing different saki with a variety of polishing and how it affects the flavor. A great learning experience where you could determine what you personally like. First you did the tasting without food and then you tasted with food. Have a snack before you come so you can enjoy it a little bit more as saki can be strong in taste. Also we learned how to read the bottles. I would absolutely recommend this as it was an excellent price value. Lovely restaurants in the area.”
“I loved this Sake experience in Kyoto! Our host, Kotaro, was so knowledgable and friendly - I learned so much. We had 7 generous sized Sake tastings and some food pairings, and we got a cheat sheet with info to help select a Sake from a menu. It's a really nice warm intimate space. I highly recommend this super fun experience!”

This tour was great. We learned so much about Sake . They were very nice and welcoming. I would highly recommend this experience. Also the area where it’s located is super cute.
Mayo was awesome
Really great tour, great way to see local spots around Kyoto that I never would have seen in my own
Kiyomi, our teacher, could not have been more friendly, pleasant and patient. We really enjoyed her talk and her teaching(as well as the delicious sake). I went with my college age son and he said it was the highlight of our ten day trip! I would recommend this place to anyone without hesitation.
We both really enjoyed this experience. You get a lot of info at the start that helps the tasting make more sense when you eventually get round to the sipping. Kotoro was our host and he was great, he was very clear, funny and answered any questions we had.
esperienza davvero bella ed interessante,Shogo è stato eccezionale nel spiegarci i vari tipi di sakè
Our guide/ instructor, Mayo was a great teacher who taught us a lot about sake. The food pairings were delicious. We had a great time.
Kiyomi was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable! We learned so much about the intricacies of sake and how the differences in brewing can be tasted. Highly recommend
